RESIDENT COMMUNITIES' MEMBERS IN ZAMFARA GET EQUAL STATUS WITH STATE INDIGENES

New Special Adviser to Zamfara state governor on Inter Community Relations, Alhji Aliyu Suleman Dansadau has accorded equal status to members of different tribes domiciled in the state with that of the state indigenes in terms of relevance and citizenship
Alhaji Aliyu Suleman Dansadau noted this when leaders of different communities ( tribes ) residing in the state paid him a courtesy visit in his office, Gusau.
He described members of different resident communities in the state as partners in progress as they part take in the development of the state economically, socially, traditionally as well as politically .He added that some members of resident communities have been in the state for very long, and some were borne and brought up in the state.
He stated that members of resident communities deserve equal status to that of state indigenes, they should therefore be given due consideration in all circumstances.
The Special Adviser disclosed that as from next Ramadan period, members of resident communities will be considered for the state government's usual Ramadan/Sallah welfare packages, while henceforth they will also be remembered in the distribution of any palliatives.
Alhaji Aliyu Suleman Dansadau also pledged to forward all their grievances and aspirations to the state government for necessary action.
He expressed delight for the visit and called on them to support and cooperate with the state government for it to achieve in delivering to its citizens.
In his remarks, Chairman of Resident Communities' Leaders Forum in the state who doubled as Sarkin Yarabawa ( Oba ) of Zamfara state, Alh. Abdulrazak Shobanke, said they were at the Special Adviser's office to congratulate him over his recent appointment as the Special Adviser to the state governor on Inter Community Relations
Shobanke noted that members of the forum play vital roles toward development of the state as about 70% of them are business men and women .
He added that their members contribute in revenue generation and actively participate in state's politics and other engagements.
The forum's chairman appealed to the state government to always consider their members for permanent appointment into the state civil service and in the provision for palliatives and other social welfare packages.
He assured of total support to the state government's policies and programs for it to succeed.
The forum's composition whose leaders accompanied Alh. Abdulrazak Shobanke on the courtesy visit include Yoruba, Igbo, Ebira, Nupe, Igala, Tiv, Zuru, Uroboh, Etsako, Ogari, Idoma and host of others from Plateau, Kaduna, Borno Niger Benin, Bayelsa states etc.
Earlier while welcoming the august visitors, the Director Inter Community Relations, Alh. Kabiru Moh'd Maradun, commended the resident communities' leaders for the visit which he described as very significant and timely.
Delivering vote of thanks, the Director of Administration, Alh. Mahi Abdulllahi, expressed happiness, applauded the resident communities' leaders, stating that the visit will further bond the cordial relationship already entrenched between the forum and the Directorate.
