FMC Gusau re-affirms Commitment towards upgrading to a teaching hospital

The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Gusau on Tuesday , reaffirmed its commitment towards upgrading to a teaching hospital for enhanced service delivery.
The Medical Director of the FMC Gusau, Dr Bello Mohammed made the re-affirmation during the inauguration of a medical “Common room” constructed by the centre’ s branch of the Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).
In a Press Statement signed by the centre’ s Public Relation Officer, Dr. Naziru Tukur and made available to newsmen, said modalities have been put in place to ensure the actualisation of the upgrade.
“The Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) currently offers five accredited medical programmes, with students already in 200 level”
“The centre’s management has intensified efforts in providing critical infrastructure for teaching and learning at the facility,” the statement read.
The statement indicated that, Mohammed whom the common room was named after, expressed gratitude to the association and noted that the honour would not be taken for granted.
“The centre”s NARD Chairman, Dr.Ibrahim Dauran, said the positive impact of Dr Mohammed’s administration was visible across the centre”
“Dauran described Mohammed as the modern architect of the centre with a sustained drive for infrastructural advancement and enhanced healthcare service delivery”
“He also appreciated the Zamfara Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nafisa Maradun, for her support in providing facilities at the common room,” the statement read.
The statement quoted the state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Nafisa Maradun who formally inaugurated the common room as praising the association for recognising excellence.
“I encourage resident doctors to continue aligning with the centre’s vision for growth and transformation” Maradun said.
