FCET GUSAU PROVOST DISPELS RUMORS OF BANDITRY ATTACK

The Provost, Federal College of Education Technical, FCET Gusau, Dr, Umar Bello has refuted the purported attack on the institution by bandits.
The Provost disclosed this in an interview with The Truth newspaper in his office, saying that it was just a mere rumour.
He narrated that, the truth of the situation is that some unknown vigilante group embers were passing by with their motor cycles very close to the fence of the college, and some people nearby the college presumed that they were bandits trying to launch an attack on students of the college.
As a result of this misperception, Dr. Umar said, the notion stirred confusions and people nearby and students started shouting, and loudly saying "bandits, bandits".
Dr, Umar Bello said normalcy is back in the school, calling on parents and guardians to resend their children back to school as the news on the falsified bandits attack was just a rumour,
Dr, Umar Bello commended the state Governor, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawallen Maradun, State Commissioner of Police and Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for their prompt action on the matter immediately the rumour broke across.
As part of measures taken by the state government, Governor Bello Muhammad who was at the school minutes after spread of the rumour, pledged to fence the premises of the college in order to make it more secure, while a police out post will be dedicated to the college, Dr .Umar further noted.
He expressed happiness for the concern shown by the Gusau Emirate Council on the matter.
The Provost also thanked all security operatives in the state for their efforts toward the incidence, described the relationship between the college and Security officials as cordial, calling on them to maintain the tempo
