GOVERNOR MATAWALLE SWEARS - IN ADDITIONAL COMMISSIONERS, SPECIAL ADVISERS

Zamfara State Governor, Hon.Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle MON (Shattiman Sakkwato) has sworn- in two new Commissioners and 10 Special Advisers
Speaking shortly after the swearing-in ceremony which took place at Government House Gusau, Governor Matawalle called on stakeholders in the state to join hands with his administration in harnessing the vast natural mineral resources for growth and development of the state,
He narrated that, if stakeholders join hands with his government, the vast mineral resources available in the state will be better harnessed for growth and development of the state, rather than ignoring the resources untapped.
Matawalle Explained that, his administration is doing its best to put an end to banditry and all forms of criminalities in order to create a veritably conducive environment for investors, which he said, will in turn generate more employment opportunities for youth in the state.
He further noted that the recent mobile communication shut down by his administration was aimed at giving security personnel the leverage to properly fight bandits.
Shattman Sokoto said the communication shut down is progressively yielding fruitful results within very short period of time.
He added that, a total of 544 abductees were rescued including two students of FGC Yawuri, Kebbi state, 18 students of College of Agriculture and Animal Science Bakura and 75 other students from Government Day Secondary School, Kaya in Maradun Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor also disclosed that series of arrests of suspected bandits and their collaborators were made across the 14 local government area as well as interception of large cache of alcoholic drinks and hard drugs meant for bandits,
Matawallen Maradun further said that, having attended the United Nations Conference of Partners in Glasgow, this November, and realized that banditry might be connected to climate change as revealed by experts, being a subnational entity, Zamfara State, like other members of the global community, will be part of the global conversation on issues that will make the State safer and conducive for development activities.
He charged new appointees to put in their wealth of experience to bear in the progress of his administration and development of the state generally, based on the confidence reposed in them.
He commended security personnel operating in the state for dislodging bandits, exposing their hideouts and their informants, and also applauded members of the public in all the 14 local government areas of the state for their cooperation and support to the military exercises and government programmes aimed at taking the state to the next level.
Speaking on behalf of the new appointees, Honourable Muktar Ahmad Darma thanked the Governor for finding them worthy for the appointment and assured to discharge their respective duties with utmost sense of honesty and dedication for the government to succeed.
Hon. Dama assured that they will individually and collectively support the Governor in the area of security to end banditry and other criminal activities in the state.
Sworn - in along with two Commissioners and 10 Special Advisors, include new State Auditor - General and other 8 Permanent Secretaries.
Important Personalities who atteded the event include, Speaker Zamfara State House of Assembly, Honourable Nasiru Muazu Magarya, Former Deputy Governors, Mallam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad and Honourable Muktar Ahmad Anka, Honourable Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi and Honourable Usman Dankalili Bakura,
Others include are the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Mohammed Gayari, Chief of Staff, Government House, Mallam Ibrahim Sulaiman Gusau, Emir of Anka Alhaji Attahiru Mohammed Ahmad and that of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello, Members of the State and National Assemblies, Honourable Commissioners, Special Advisers, Permanent Secretaries, Directors General, Local Government Sole Administrators and many APC stalwarts, among others.
