"SAVE THE CHILDREN" APPLAUDS GOVERNOR MATAWALLE FOR DONATING N6BN TO FINE TUNE SOCIAL PROGRAMME

Zamfara state government has been commended for releasing a total sum of N6 billion naira for the success of social  protection programme in the state.

The commendation was made by the advocacy coordinator of Save the Children, Alhaji Nura Muhammad Bukkuyyum on the occasion of this year's World  International Day for People  with Disabilities held at the state Zakkat conference hall recently. 

According to him,  Save the Children has been in zamfara State since 2012, and  has done series of  programmes  in Talata Mafara, Bukkuyyum And Tsafe local government areas,  respectively.

He further noted that, currently, the international donor agency has introduced a social programme entitled " Expanding Social Protection for Inclusive Development (ESPID)  aimed at improving lives of poor people in the state

The Advocacy coordinator said that the organisation has  trained  over 10,000 people on how to assist people with disabilities  and other  persons both in  Urban and rural areas of the state

He also stated that Save the Children the event was celebrated annually for the last years, and had visited schools for persons with disabilities,   Gusau Emir's  palace, State House of Assembly and Government House,Gusau among others.

.He congratulated His Excellency Dr Bello Muhammad Matawallen Maradun for appointing two key technical craftsmen  in  his government,.They are Kabiru Balarabe Sardaunan Dan Isa who is presently the Secretary to the State Government and Kabiru Muhammad Gayari who is now the  Head of Service.

He also appealed to the state House of Assembly  to pass a Bill on social protection programme into law for improving lives of people with  disabilities and poor ones in the state.

In the same vein, the state Commissioner for Humanitarian  Affairs and  Disaster Management, Hajiya Faika Ahmad Mashal, commended Save the Children for introducing the  Expanding Social Protection for Inclusive Development (ESPID) and the state Zakkat board for celebrating the international day earmarked for persons with disabilities  with a view to make them happy

.Faika also promised that very soon, her  ministry will collaborate with Zakkat and Endowment board to  organise a similar programme purposely for the  betterment  of the  poor in the state.

She added that "this is a  good agenda of Excellency Dr Bello Muhammad matawalle maradun Barden kasar Hausa, towards reducing poverty among people in the  state.

Responding,  Governor of Zamfara State,  Dr Bello Muhammad matawalle maradun Barden kasar Hausa, who was represented by the  Secretary to the State Government,  Alhaji kabiru Balatabe saudaunan Dan Isa noted that, the state government is aware of the  gigantic efforts of Executive Chairman of the state  Zakkat board under the administration of Dr Bello Muhammad matawalle maradun and assured  that the  state government will continue to support the board  financially for the development of the state.

On the issue of  social protection bill which is currently in the state House Assembly,  assured that very soon the Bill will be passed  in to law for improving  lives of the poor.
