Bread Sellers Cry foul of Hike in Prices of Commodities

Zamfara state chapter of Bread Sellers' Association has cried out over swift increase in prices of flour,sugar and other basic bread related items.


The state chairman of the association, Alh.  Yusuf Usman  made the statement in an interview with journalists in his office, Gusau


Alhaji Yusuf Usman lamented  that, most of bread baking  factories have  shutdown as a result of high prices of relevant bread making  materials


 “ We  buy a bag of flour at the cost N25,000 to  N27,000 against the N800 a bag was sold before", he noted.


He appealed to the Federal Government to intervene in the  matter   for them to keep on with their businesses before the situation becomes completely unbelievable.



“Over 30 bread  baking factories in Zamfara state have closed as a result of high prices of the needed  ingredients”, the  Chairman further stressed.


 

He called on all members of the association to be patient as the matter would eventually become a history,.


He also appealed to members  to always be  just and  honest for them to succeed in the discharge of  their businesses, which he said, leads to success.


Alh.  Yusuf Usman called on  flour mills companies and dealers to look into the possibility of slashing prices of flours in the state and Nigeria at large.


He called on people of the state to continue praying for peace and stability, considering that, no society would develop without peace.
