Zamfara state Speaker Right Hon. Nasuru Mu'azu Magarya

        Speaker , Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasiru Muazu Magarya  has urged people in the state   to partake in the current Continuous Voter Registration exercise to obtain or update their voter’s cards where necessary.

     The Speaker made the call in a  statement  signed and issued  to newsmen by the Director General for  Press Affairs and Public Relations in the  House , Malam Nasiru Usman Biyabiki.

       According to the statement,, Hon. Magarya who doubled as the  Chairman of the State Continuous Voters  Registration and Mobilisation Committee, while chairing the committee’s inaugural meeting , emphasized the need for the entire citizens to ensure that they possess  their individual voter’s cards to enable them exercise their constitutional rights in the forthcoming general elections.

      He  enjoined  members of the Main and Local Government Sub-Committees to work in collaboration with INEC officials to facilitate smooth conduct of the exercise ahead of the  time frame of 30th June, 2022.

     " Your Vote is your right, you can use it wisely to transform your state", Magarya said.

      Hon.  Mu’azu further urged  the committee members to justify the confidence reposed in  them by His Excellency the state Governor, Dr. Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun).

      According to the statement, the Speaker noted his  committee will work round the clock to ensure the success of the exercise.

   He said  that, considering the importance of the exercise, the state government has declared Monday 20th to Friday 24th June, 2022 as wor-free days to enable Public and Civil Servants in the State obtain their voters' cards.

        Speaking earlier, the Committee Secretary and former state  APC Chairman, Hon. Lawal M. Liman (Gabdon Kaura) briefed the two Committees on the modalities applicable to  conduct of the exercise.

 He said, over 600 Polling Units are yet to take their names as they have less than 50 registered voters.

          In their separate speeches, the Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Kabiru Balarabe (Lamidon Kaura), Head of Service, Alh. Kabiru Mohammed Gayari, and State APC Chairman, Alh. TUkur Umar Danfulani both reiterated commitments to work towards changing the narratives for  the better.

      It could be recalled that, the State Government has formed a 13-member coordinating and Local Government Sub-Committees that comprised key-stakeholders and were assigned to ensure the success of the exercise.
