Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle Condole with Kwatarkwashi Emrate Over the Dead of HRN Alhaji Ahmad Umar

Zamfara Governor Bello Muhammad Matawallen Maradun has described the Died of Emir of Kwatarkwashi Alhaji  Ahmad Umar as a great  loss not his Family but the entire people of the State.

This wàs Contained in a press Statement Sign by the press Secretary  to the Executive Governor, Mallam Jamilu Illiyasu Birnin Magaji and made available to the journalist in Gusau.

According to press Statement, Governor Matawallen Maradun Stated this during a Condolence visit to Kwatarkwashi Emrate, and entire People of kwatarkwashi over the died of HRN Alhaji Ahmad Umar.


The Statement further said that, Governor Bello Matawalle said he was shocked when he received the news of the demise of the monarch,  described the late Emir as a religious leader and philanthropist per excellence.    

The Governor discribed late Emir as pillar  in the traditional institution of Zamfara State as he was known for his selfless service to the people of the Emirate and humanity in general.


Matawalle Explained that, the   death of late Emir is a monumental loss to the state and a great vacuum created in the traditional institution of Zamfara State considering the leadership style of the long serving traditional ruler.

The Governor called on the people of the Emirate to consider the death of the monarch who served for 61 years as Emir as an act of Allahu SWT and to pray for him at all times for the repose of his soul.



He also prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased all his shortcomings and grant his family, people of the Emirate and entire people of the state the fortitude to bear the loss.


Responding on behalf of the Emirate Council, the Wazirin Kwatarkwashi, Alhaji Muhammad Na Inna thanked the Governor and his enterouge for the condolence and prayed Allahu SWT to reward them in abundance.


“His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Mai Kwatarkwashi is the 28th Ruler of the Ancient City of Kwatarkwashi. He died last Thursday evening in his palace after a fruitful reign”

“Late Emir  died at the age of 94, leaving behind a large number of children, grand children and great grandchildren”


The Governor was accompanied on the condolence visit by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, Chief of Staff, Government House, Gusau, Malam Ibrahim Suleiman, Head of service, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Gayari, Commissioner of information, Alhaji Ibrahim Dosara and some senior Government officials
