The Zamfara state intended pilgrms has been called to be a good ambassadors of the State and country in general, while at the Holy Land as guests of Allah
The State Deputy Governor, Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau, stated this while flagged up the evening session of the one-day workshop on the dos and don'ts of Hajj exercise organized by the Foundation for Muslim Welfare.
The Deputy Governor described the sensitization workshop as worthwhile educative end enlightening program that practically affords especially intending Hajj pilgrims the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the exercise theoretically and practically starting from intent to the conduct of farewell circumambulation ('Dawaful Wada'i) which is the last activity.
He also expressed appreciation to the organisers of this annual programme, especially in their endurance to sustain the tempo of the workshop for the last twenty-six-years now.
According to him, demonstration of the physical operations of the exercise to intending pilgrims ahead of their departure to Sa'udi Arabia for the pilgrimage helps in no small way in facilitating the understanding of especially first-timers on correct steps to follow in the observance of one of the five pillars of Islam.
The Deputy Governor, on behalf of the State Executive Governor Dr, Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun) assured the intending pilgrims and their relations that the State Government has already concluded necessary arrangements to ensure their safety and general welfare while on transit at home and throughout their stay in the Holy Land, and also called on them to pray for prevalence of sustainable peace and security, as well as abundant and bumper harvest-yielding rainfall in Zamfara State and Nigeria as a whole.
In attendance at the occasion were the Executive Chairman of Zamfara State Hajj Commission Alhaji Lawali Isah (Danmajen Kaura Namoda), Executive Chairman State Zakkat and Endowment Commission Mallam Muhammad Sodangi Gusau and some Permanent Commissioners of the Hajj Commission, among many others.
