GOVERNOR MATAWALLE BIDS RETIRED CP AYUBA ELKANA FAREWELL IN A GRAND STYLE .

ZamGusaufara State Governor Hon Dr. Bello Mohammed MON Matawallen Maradun has described the retirement of the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ayuba Elkana as a great lacuna and with over mixed feelings to the security arrangements in the continued fight against banditry and other criminal activities bedeviling the state.
This was Contained in a press Statement Signed by Press Secretary office State Governor, Mallam Jamilu Illiyasu Birnin Magaji and Made available to the Journalists in Gusau the State Capital.
According to the Press Statement, the Governor stated this while hosting the retired CP to a Grand Dinner organised by the State Government in honour of the retiring Commissioner of Police in appreciation for the selfless service he rendered to the state.
The exit from service of CP Ayuba Elkana has come to the government and people of the state with mixed feelings, it was necessary for the state to rejoice with the retiring CP Elkana for his patriotic and committed service to our fatherland for a period of 32 years” Matawalle Stated.
"We are going to miss you for your commendable service as our Commissioner of Police, we are going to miss you for the love you have for our dear state and its people”
"We must sincerely appreciate all you have done as Zamfara state Commissioner of Police to combat insecurity in the state, we particularly appreciate your talent and vast experience which you have deployed in coming up with effective strategies to combat the over a decade long banditry in the state," the Governor said.
“The security measures we have put in place with the active support of CP Ayuba Elkana have helped in no small measure in reducing bandits attacks in various parts of the state", appreciating the successes recorded with all Security agencies support” Matawalle added.
The Shettiman Sokoto also informed the retiring CP Elkana that, his retirement from the Nigeria Police Force indeed called for celebrations, and gratitude to Almighty Allah for the wonderful accomplishments, hence the need for the state Government to organise a Grand Banquet dinner in his honour
“Having undoubtedly earned the respect of the people and Government of Zamfara state, the state government is donated a 5-Bedroom bungalow to the retiring CP Elkana as an honour for the selfless service he rendered to the state” Matawalle noted.
The Governor while praying to Almighty Allah to grant CP Elkana good health, and protection, also informed him that Zamfara State will always remain his home, and urged him to continue contributing in every way to the development of the state.
Earlier in a welcome address, the state Commissioner of Security and Home Affairs, Rtd DIG Mamman Ibrahim Tsafe said although CP Ayuba Elkana has retired he is not tired, Zamfara state has benefited with his tremendous support in the fight against banditry and all security challenges facing it.
In a vote of thanks, the retiring Zamfara state Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba Elkana said his retirement did not mean forgetting Zamfara state as he would continue to offer his contributions to the state whenever the need arises with a view to secure the state and the nation at large.
CP Ayuba Elkana expressed his profound appreciation to the Government and entire people of Zamfara state, for the support and cooperation given to him during his stay as the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command and hoped that the Security situation will improve significantly in all parts of the state.
The occasion was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, Chief of Staff Government House, Malam Ibrahim Suleiman, State Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Gayari, Deputy Chief of Staff Government House, Alhaji Jalaluddeen Maradun, Members of the state Executive Council, Special Advisers, permanent secretaries, APC leaders and party faithful, very senior police officers, Heads of security agencies serving in the state, Islamic scholars, and other senior Government officials.
