The Zamfara State Governor Hon Dr. Bello Mohammed MON Matawallen Maradun, (Barden Hausa Shettiman Sokoto) has launched the Covid-19 vaccination scale 3.0 strategy, aimed at increasing vaccination rates for children and Covid-19 coverage to the general public throughout the state.

According to the Press Released,
Governor Bello Matawalle said that, the launching of the Covid-19 vaccination scale 3.0 strategy is part of series of efforts by his Administration to put in place, measures and strategies to protect people of the state from infectious diseases.
“The Governor Explained that, among the proactive measures taken by his administration when COVID-19 was declared as a global health emergency, was the construction and equipping of the Infectious Disease Centre, Damba at the cost of N1,288,414,343.89, in order to adequately respond to the Covid-19 as well as other infectious diseases”
“This new strategy is also designed to expand public access to COVID-19 vaccines beyond conventional health facilities and at the same time, further reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus by boosting immunity response” Matawalle noted.
“As the National Primary Health Care Development Agency ranked Zamfara state among the high _performing States in terms of COVID-19 vaccine rollout, the Governor expressed optimism that the efforts being put in place by his administration are yielding positive results”
“Taking the COVID-19 vaccine is both an act of self protection and civic duty and urged people of the state to take the vaccine which is free and accessible”
Governor Matawalle called on Senators, members of the Federal House of Representatives and State House of Assembly, members of the state Executive Council, all local Government council sole Administrators in the state, traditional rulers, religious leaders, trade unions, professional associations, Corporate organizations and women groups to continue to extend support to the vaccination drive.
"Today's coverage should be considered our baseline, and by the next 10 to 11 weeks, we should be able to review our performance by local Government Areas.
"The first three best performing local government areas will receive an award of excellence, while the least performing local Government Areas would be required to explain the reason for falling short of expectation," the governor said.
In his keynote remarks, the state Commissioner of Health, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar MC said the current zero COVID-19 case in the state is attributed to the good governance and support by his Excellency, the Governor of Zamfara state for the ongoing vaccination in the state.
The commissioner noted that the state Government will continue to experience changes in the factors that influence demand and uptake of COVID-19 vaccines, saying these changes are not uniform across the state, they are from one local Government to another, ranging from hard to reach areas, and therefore required continuous review of the strategies for promoting demand and ensuring vaccines access and accountability.
He informed the event that in order to address those emerging and re-emerging challenges the new scale 3.0 strategy is introduced, pointing out that, the strategy campaign is designed using mobile special teams to take vaccine to people's door steps.
