ZMSG Convert Damba Covid-19 Disease Control Center to General Hospital

     The Zamfara state Government has directed the conversion of Damba Covid-19 Disease Control Centre to General Hospital Status.

     The directive was issued by His Excellency the State Deputy Executive Governor Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha while on a second official visit to the State Center for Covid-19 Diseases Control at Damba and Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital Gusau.

     Briefing journalists shortly after the inspection exercise at Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, the Jarman Gusau said the visit was a follow-up to his last visit to the two respective facilities aimed at seeing for himself the level of compliance of the State Government's directives on how best the management and staff can improve their services for the betterment of the citizens.

   


At Damba Covid 19 Diseases Control Centre, the Deputy Governor inspected all the available equipment and directed for the immediate handing over of the facility by the Ministry of Works to the Ministry of Health for onward preparations by it for the conversion of the Centre to the status of General Hospital.

     He further ordered that, two weeks ultimatum time-frame is given to the Ministry of Health to ensure immediate take-off of the Centre as General Hospital.

   


Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau also explained that, the administration of Governor Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun) would not in any way allow public properties be mismanaged or under-utilized, as the government would always find the most suitable alternative for people to benefit from such investment.

      He also said, taking into consideration the increase in population in the State Capital and its environs, "the newly approved General Hospital Damba is expected to complement the other existing facilities in Gusau. This is because it will cater for the health needs of people from Mada, Ruwan Bore, Wonaka, Damba and other villages in the surroundings". He said.

    At Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, the Deputy Governor inspected, Male Medical Surgical, Orthopaedic, Theatre, and Emergency Wards.

    While being taken round by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Pharmacist Aliyu Maikiyo Maradun, Senator Hassan Gusau expressed satisfaction with the present level of development which he did not witness in his last visit to the hospital.

    However, he urged the Medical Director, to as a matter of urgency, put the Orthopaedic Department of the hospital into full operation in order to relieve people travelling from far places like Kano and Kaduna to Gusau looking for the services of the Hospital.

    The Deputy Governor was accompanied on the visit by his Principal Private Secretary Dr Ahmad Lawal, Director General Protocol Abdullahi Lawal, Secretary Hospital Services Management Board Comrade Bashir Muhammad Mafara, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health and all Directors of the Ministry.
