OGP,PERL organised workshop on open budget in Kaduna

The open government partnership Kaduna state in collaboration with partnership to engage, reform and learn (PERL)have organised a two-days interaction workshop on open budget and the citizens influence in the 2023 Kaduna state budget.
The interaction session which is recently held at hotel seventeenth Kaduna.
The co-chair on the open budget, open government partnership Kaduna state, Mr Joshua James, explained that "the objectives of this interaction session is to support the implementation of two activities in the open budget commitment area to enhance citizens participation in the entire budget circle.
To review and reflect on participation of the citizens in the 2023 budget, to conduct a sectoral analysis of the draft budget in preparation for engagement with SHOA during the appropriation of public hearing, and to documents and track citizens influence in the 2023 Kaduna state budget".
He however explained that,while discussion the in strategic session on reflection in citizens engagement in the state and local government 2022 budget: the challenges, however discovered that; some activities mechanism can not requested to the budget.
Lack of interest from the government, unrealistic on MTEAL,the budget draft was coming late, the released of fund and cash backing, was the major challenged.
While addressing the participants of the workshop, the SLF partnership to engage, reform and learn Mr Adejor Abel,commended the participants of their dedication and the humble commitment throughout the two days interaction session.
