The Zamfara State Government has assured to continue providing enabling environment to health care related partners.
This was disclosed by the State Deputy Governor Distinguished Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau and also Chairman State Taskforce Committee on Immunization while presiding over the stakeholder's meeting organized by the State Primary Healthcare Management Board in his office.
The Deputy Governor expressed appreciation for the level of success recorded by the Board, especially in the areas of routine immunizations which, in each of the projections shown, had indicated greater reductions in all the communicable diseases.
The Deputy Governor called on the Local Government Council Sole Administrators to ensure punctuality in their participation in the evening review meetings, as it is only through such meetings that they would be able to get updated about the current challenges affecting their areas and the kind of assistance they are required to render.
The Deputy Governor, on behalf of the State Executive Governor, reiterated the State Government's continuous commitment to providing enabling environment for the Development Partners to operate and feel comfortable as well as granting them the required political will at any time.
He also assured the stakeholders of the government readiness to support the partners with adequate security for them to reach the hard-to-reach areas.
In their separate speeches, the representatives of Unicef, WHO, Cigari Foundation, Solina, and other partners thanked the State government for doing the needful, especially the payment of counter funds as and when due.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary Dr. Tukur Isma'i gave detailed updates on the success and challenges recorded during the period under review in which possible solutions were proffered to address identified problems and enhance services.
The Executive Secretary also thanked all the partners for their usual support and commitment to the success of the immunization programmes.
