2023 Elections: Kaduna state peace commission holds Summit on peaceful campaigns and elections

The Kaduna state governor Malam Nasir Ahmad El-rufai has reiterated his government commitment and determination to support Independent National Electoral commission for the smooth Conduct's and free, fair and peaceful elections.

Governor El-rufai made the statement during a high level engagement with political parties, candidates and stakeholders for peaceful campaigns and election,organised by the state peace commission, recently held at Hotel Seventeen Kaduna.

The governor who's ably represented by his deputy, Dr Hadiza Balarabe Sabuwa, appealed the political parties to commits campaigns and rallies for making sure peace reigned in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the others gubernatorial candidates, the New Nigeria Peoples party gubernatorial candidate, Senator Sulaiman Usman Hunkuyi, urged the political parties to make an awareness and disseminates the initiated to their fellows members.

"I called on the party leader's to encourage to resort the constutionals provisions to addressed all their grievances and embraced democratic values,respect the dignity of humans, eschew provocations and hate speech".

Also in his addressed the chairman Kaduna state peace commission, Reverend Josiah Iduwu- Fearon, described elections Violence's as provocative, hurtful and aggressive actions carried out by people that are associated with the candidates or political parties vrying for elective positions during democratic elections.

" especially when results announced, the action associated with elections violence have involved physically or verbally threatened peoples during campaigns, forceful interrupted the elections process, preventing the smooth conduct of election, damaging of elections materials and preventing the compilation of elections results".

He however called on the party leader's to educates their followers and encouraged them to commit peaceful process before, during and after the elections.

"the initiatives is intended to create awareness, mobilize the citizenry and provide the level pay ground for peaceful campaigns and elections."

Provost Federal College of Education Technical (FCET) Gusau, Dr. (Mrs) Onazi B. Oluwatoyin and her management team. Dr. Aminu Abdullahi of Federal Medical Center (FMC) Gusau made the revelation in a presentation tittle "Internal Brain drain Prons  and Cons in Security Challenge state,  The presentation was made at the Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference organised by the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) FMC Gusau Chapter, held in Gusau.
