Madarasatul Ukhuwapul Islamiyya Gusau, Zamfara state, has realized over 18 million donations during a graduation ceremony of the school, held at its premises .
This was disclosed by the founder of the school, Malam Ahmad Umar Kanoma at a graduation ceremony in honour of a set of the school's graduating students.
Malam Ahmad Umar Kanoma thanked the donors for their immense contributions to the school and assured of utilizing the funds Judiciously.
He further disclosed that the donors include, the state Governor, Dr. Bello Muhammad Mataealle N10Million, the state Deputy Governor, Senator Hasan Nasiha, former state Governor, Abdulaziz Yari and Senator Kabir Marafa N1Million who donated N1:million, respectively, while the state Commissioner for Local Government affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Dambo and his family donated N2milliion.
Sheikh Kanoma noted that, the chairman of the state Universal Basic Education Bord, Alhaji Abubakar (Dan Madamin Maradun) assured the school management that he will construct additional structures in the school worth N11Million while a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Muttaka Rini has paid a total of N3Million as compensations to land owners around the school earmarked for its expansion.
In his remarks, the School Director, Dr, Abdullahi Ahmad Umar Kanoma, said that, the school was established in 1991 and started with just 15 students, but entitlement of students has now rose to 3000, indicating further that the school has branches in all the 14 local government areas of the state.
In his few remarks earlier, the state Governor, Dr.Bello Muhammad Matawalle who was represented by the state Commissioner local government affairs, Allah Abubakar Dambo congratulated the graduands and has pledged to give all necessary support and cooperation to the school whenever the need arose.
