2023 Elections: Zamfara police Restrict Vehicular Movement .

Zamfara State Commissioner of Police Lawal Abubakar fdc, has reiterated the  commitment and determination  of the Police and other Security Agencis to enforce the order of the restriction of movement order of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba psc(+), NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR on restriction of movement on  Election day. 

This was Contained in a press Statement signed by the Spokesperson of the Command SP Muhammad Shehu issued to the truth newspaper in Gusau the state capital.

According the Statement, the  total restriction of movement of persons and vehicles will commence  from 12 am to 6 pm on election day with the exception of essential services such as INEC Officials, Electoral Observers, Ambulances responding to medical emergencies, firefighters, among others.

“Security aides and escorts are also barred from accompanying their principals and Politicians to Polling booths and collation centres during the election, as anyone found disobeying this order will be severely sanctioned”

SP Muhammad  said, the ban on the unauthourised use of sirens, revolving lights, covered number plates and tinted glasses is still in force, and violators will be sanctioned appropriately, adding that, the IGP has re-emphased that, all state  - established and owned security outfits /organisations, quasi - security units, and privately owned guard and security outfits are also barred from participating in election security management. 

“The Police and other security personnel will be conducting robust and joint confidence building patrols to ensure compliance with this order as well as to ensure hitch free election exercise. The Command has also  made adequate arrangement to provide security to all INEC facilities and Officials and other vulnerable infrastructures domiciled within the state”

“The Command appeals for continous support and partnership from the general public in order to make the elections peaceful and  successful”
