Zamfara : NSCDC Warns Youth not to participate in any protest, violence in the 2023 general election

Zamfara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps  Muhammad Bello Muazu has warned  youths in the state against being used as instruments of violence in the 2023 general elections and the face of paucity of Naira and Premium Motor Spirit in the state.

This was contained in press signed by public relation officer of the command Ikor Oche SC issued to the journalists in Gusau the state capital.

According to the press released state commandant said that, youths are considered as leaders of tomorrow and should not be allowed to be used by unpatriotic elements  to jeopardized their future by  cowering them into thuggery and mob actions.

The Statement further said Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu stated that, while having a chat with youth Organizations in the state as convened by the NSCDC Zamfara State Command.


Commandant MB Muazu reiterated that, no nation can strive without the youths. He opined the premium is placed on  the strength of the youth to an invaluable measure, advised the youths to be law abiding and to desist from any form of restiveness, protest, mob action or  anything capable of jeopardizing their future and that of the state at large.

“The Commandant hopefully said that, the Naira crunch and fuel scarcity being witnessed now  in the state and the country at large, will soon be a thing of the past.  He therefore advised that no youth should allow anyone to lure them into any form of protest in order to score cheap political gains”

“The State Commandant said that the Corps is empowered by the Acts of 2003 as amended in 2007 to protect all critical infrastructures in the nation, therefore he appealed to the youths not to Nurture any thoughts of attack on any public and private infrastructures as that will constitute an infringement on the mandate of the Corps and it will not be tolerated”


“Speaking on behalf of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Bar. Bashir Garba reiterated the resolve of the youths in Zamfara State to be loyal to constituted authorities and to eschew  any form of violence  before during  and after the general elections” 

He also opined that the NYCN which is an umbrella youth organization has resolved  to distant themselves from any form  of protest, planned mob actions as a result of the paucity of Naira  and Premium Motor Spirit in Zamfara State and also to eschew violence and thuggery in the 2023 general elections.

“The Director in the Ministry of Youths and Sports, Hon Sani Aliyu also commended the management of the Corps for this novel

 idea of interfacing with youths of the state on security matters and chatting way forward”

“He said that the Ministry will do everything within their  purview to develop the youths and to mentor them out of thuggery and other social vices in the state”

“Also, the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ibrahim Musa Maizeri reiterated the resolve of the Nigeria Union of Journalists In Zamfara State to always partner with NSCDC  and other sister agencies to nip the menace of fake news in the social  media which is usually attributed to the youth wing of the society”

“He said that youths are agents of positive change in the society and they should remain as such and not to be used disruption of peace”

“Other youth bodies who spoke during the chat hailed the State Commandant, Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu for a timely organized program”

“They vowed never to allow anyone to lure them into disruption of peace in the state in the name of protest or  to cause rancor in the forthcoming  General Elections in Zamfara State”

“The youth bodies however pledged their loyalty and support for peaceful existence and conduct of the general elections in the state as they do not have any other state other than Zamfara State”
