INEC distributes sensitive election materials for Governorship and state assembly to local governments in Kebbi

The independent national electoral commission(INEC) has distributed sensitive election material for Governorship and state house of assembly in kebbi-state. 

Speaking to journalists during the distribution of the materials at the Birnin kebbi branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Kebbi State the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ahmed Bello Mahmud stated that they were at the central Bank  to see all the sensitive materials which include,  Ballot papers, result sheets and to also certify their completeness and then deploy them to the various local governments in the state.

He stated that, the distribution of sensitive election materials would start with the kebbi-Sourth senatorial District followed by  kebbi-North senatorial District and lastly  kebbi Central senatorial District because of the proximity.

"We are going to do a re-training exercise of our Ad-hoc staff so that we brush up some challenges witnessed during the presidential and national assembly elections ." he said

He also stated that, all non sensitive materials had already been deployed to the respective local governments since the presidential and national assembly elections, describing  the security and logistics arrangement as impressive. 

"Another part of the protocol I will have to sign on all the forms for security reason” he added.

He thanked the military and para- military agencies for their commitment to ensuring the smooth conduct of peaceful elections in the state.
