NCC organises community Dialogue in kebbi

The Nigerian communication commission has organised a community dialogue in Kebbi-State, Speaking at the event, the zonal controller, kano zonal office, nigeria communication commission (NCC) Mr muhammed  B. DARI At  the 5th Edition of the telecom consumer conversation village square Dialogue held in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi-State on Thursday, october 12, 2023 at saffar conference centre.

He stated that, the dialogue is one of the commission's out reach programmes targeted at Educating and sensitizing village communities and other visitors on their Right and obligation as telecom consumers,

"The commission's decision to host this Edition of the village square Dialogue in Birnin-Kebbi, the capital of kebbi state, is a tourist centre and trade hub." He said

He also Described the famous Argungu fishing and cultural festivals and the zuru uhola cultural festivals as attract annually millions of tourist who are also telecom consumers to the state.

"I must emphasis here that the NCC is highly appreciated for the kind hospitality of His Royal Highness, Alhaji muhammadu iliyasu Bashar CFC,MNI, the emir of Gwandu, the entire emirates council members, the people of Kebbi-State and other distinguished personalities presence here." Muhammed said.

Muhammed also stated that, the NCC remains committed to it's mandate of protecting, informing and Educating consumers of telecoms services accross all the 36 states of the federation including federal capital Authority (FCT as the out reach event will provide a face to face interaction with NCC the Regulatory Body of telcom), the service providers and the densely populated civil servants, Traders and farmers in the state who are equally telecom consumers to keep abreast with happenings in the industry for improved consumers experience in the industry.

Also speaking at the event, Director consumer affairs Bereau, Alhaji Alkasim Abubakar umar explained that, they are in Kebbi-State in order to Informed, Educate and protect the consumers, Described the gathering as a gathering aimed at bringing people together to create awareness for them to know their rights and obligation.

"You can see the way event are organised in such away that so many information was given to the consumers for their own advantage." He added.

In his speech, The emir of Gwandu Alhaji muhammadu iliyasu Bashar who was represented by the Galadiman Gwandu Alhaji ibrahim Bashar KKB stated that, the important of communication cannot be over emphasized, thanked the organisers for organizing the dialogue with a view to create an awareness on the important of communication, pray Allah to reward them abundantly and take all those who attended the dialogue a safe journey back to their various destination.

In Attendance were The chief Executive officers from MTN, AiRTEL, GLO, 9 MOBILE, Civil Servants, Students as well as members from the Business community.

Highlights of the event was the fastest finger competition with five hundred naira airtime recharge cards of mtn,airtel, glo and 9mobile respectively.

Provost Federal College of Education Technical (FCET) Gusau, Dr. (Mrs) Onazi B. Oluwatoyin and her management team. Insecurity: Zamfara hospitals surfer brain drain - Doctor call rescue
