ZMSG DEMONSTRATED IT COMMITMENT IN IMPLEMENTATION OF SOCIAL PROTECTION PROJECTS.

    The administration of Governor Dauda Lawal has demonstrated it commitment to reforms the State and Local Governments in effective implementation of project and programs.

      This was disclosed by the state Deputy Governor Malam Mani Mummuni in his remark at the validation of state protection policy meeting held at Bafra hotel Kaduna.

   The Deputy Governor said, "It is evident that, reforms could not be achieved without developing a conscious and coordinated efforts as policy formulation that will guide the effective implementation of project and programmes. This necessitated the Ministry of Budget and Planning in its effort to lay a solid foundation for sustainable development for Social protection at grass root level by initiating the idea of reviewing the social protection policy". He said.

     "International partners like UNICEF and Save the Children International have tremendously supported the state in improving the capacity of the technocrats towards strengthening the legal and institutional framework especially the development and review of the social protection". He added.

   He also lamented that, Zamfara State according to the 2022 multi-dimensional poverty survey has been identified to be amongst the poorest states in the country.

     He therefore said, "To this end, the social protection policy will not only serve as basis for government interventions towards alleviating poverty in the state but also a reconstruction strategy for development partner’s intervention.

    Malam Mani expressed that, the current administration of Governor Dauda Lawal has demonstrated commitment to implementation of social protection projects and programmes such as Zamfara youth Sanitation programme, the state security trust fund and the Community Protection Guards. 

     He also on behalf of the Executive Governor of Zamfara State Dauda Lawal  appreciated UNICEF and Save the Children International for their continuing supporting the state in social protection programs.
