MORIKI 2ND JUMU'AT MOSQUE TO REOPEN AFTER SEVEN YEARS OF FACTIONAL FEUD

Moriki second Jumuat Mosque in Zurmi local government area of Zamfara State will be reopened on Friday, 29th December, 2023 after been shut down for the past seven years.
The reopening of the mosque followed the intervention of the state Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Malam Suleiman Adamu Gummi to end a 7--year feud between the Kaduna and Jos factions of Izalatil Bidi'a Wa Ikamatus Sunna, JIBWIS which led to the closure of the mosque seven years ago.
The dispute between the two religious sects occurred when the unification JIBWIS was broken into Kaduna and Jos divisions, and the issue of leadership and ownership of the mosque which became catastrophic, hence it was indefinitely closed.
According to the Commissioner, the state government under the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal ordered for the reconciliation and reopening of the mosque so that people can continue performing their obligation in the mosque.
Hon. Suleiman Adamu Gummi further said the state government will construct second phase of the mosque, so that each faction will have its own.
Two Imams were selected from each sect. Malam Isah Hamza Ismail from Kaduna faction and Malam Bilyaminu from Jos faction.
According to arrangements reached at the reconciliation, the two Imams will lead the mosque on rotational basis. Mal. Isah Hamza Ismail of Kaduna faction will lead the Jumuat Prayer on Friday, 29th December, 2023 while his counterpart of Jos, Will lead the next Friday.
In his remarks shortly after the reconciliation, the Zamfara State chairman of JIBWIS, Alh. Aliyu Na Allah Zurmi, commended both factions for their cooperation that led to the reconciliation ending the seven years feud between them.
Alh. Aliyu Na Allah ZURMI appealed to the state government to fulfill its pledge of constructing the second phase of the mosque for the benefit of all JIBWIS members in Moriki.
In his short remarks, JIBWIS Jos faction chairman in the state, Alh. Yusuf Adamu Dinawa, reiterated that the Jos faction was satisfied with the reconciliation and prayed to Allah to bless the initiators.
A renown Islamic scholar in the state, Malam Ibrahim Dalla Dalla lauded the foresight and efforts of the state government to see that the seven years feud between the two JIBWIS divisions had come to an end.
Malam Dalla Calls urged members of the two JIBWIS camps to forgive each other and embrace peace.
Important personalities who graced the reconciliation treaty include representatives of Emir of Zutmi , officials from the two sects, religious and traditional leaders, and host of others too numerous to mention.
