ZAMFARA ZAKAT BOARD DISTRIBUTES MATTRESSES, TRICYCLES AND CASH TO LESS PRIVILEGED

Zamfara State Zakkat and Endowment Board has distributed 60 mattresses,   N20,000 per person and tricycles to less privileged persons in the state.

Chairman of the board,  Malam Ahmad Umar Kanoma stated this while distributing the items and cash to the beneficiaries at the board's headquarters in Gusau.

According to Malam Kanoma, the gesture was the 6th of its kind since his assumption of office ad the chairman of the board.

He added that the same assistance was extended to some students of Federal University Gusau whom were paid 50% of their school fees to enable them sit for their examination.

Kanoma further stressed that the board has also introduced a medical outreach program in which people suffering different medical issues will be given assistance, either at hospital or in their homes.

In his remarks during the distribution ceremony, Executive Secretary of the board, Malam Habibu Muhammad Balarabe Zawiyya, said the board's gesture was in line with state Governor, Dauda Lawal administration's principles of assisting orphans and less privileged to better their lives.

He said the board has received numerous requests for assistance, and has set aside every Wednesday for presenting assorted assistance to the needy ones in the 19 Emirate councils across the state.

Earlier, the state Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Malam Suleiman Adamu Gummi , represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Malam Bashir Surajo Gusau commended the efforts of the board's management for a job well done.

The Commissioner noted the board is achieving in Zakkat recovery and distribution, assuring  that the state government is determined to help the board to enable it to continue giving necessary support to the needy.

Zamfara NSCDC Hosts Acting Provost FCET Gusau

Provost Federal College of Education Technical (FCET) Gusau, Dr. (Mrs) Onazi B. Oluwatoyin and her management team.
