NLC Loud Gov, Dauda lawal for resolve to pay outstanding backlog of benefits to retired pensioners

  The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Zamfara state chapter has extended its gratitude and thanks to the state Governor, Dr Dauda Lawal for his resolve to pay outstanding backlog of benefits to  retired pensioners in the state.

  This was stated by the NLC  state Chairman, Comrade Sani Haliru Magajin Rafin Kurya in a chat with The weekly Legacy newspaper correspondent in Gusau

   Recall that last week, Dr Dauda Lawal has inaugurated a strong committee involving the two Labour  centres in the state to verify those affected. He added that the  payment of backlog of gratuity with state civil servants ranging from 2015, 2016 and 2017, while  local government retirees from 2011, 2012, and 2013 respectively.  

 Comrade Sani Haliru noted that the commendation become necessary to the council of union if we considering that since 2011 payment of retirees benefits has stop in the state added that and described the Governor as God fearing who has dedicate his commitment to people in zamfara state. He said that this clearly indicated that Governor Dr Dauda Lawal has come to zamfara as a Governor with good intentions to rescue mission to ensure both active and retired workers  enjoy the dividend of Democratic in the state.

   During the verification exercise in ministry for finance The weekly Legacy newspaper correspondent contacted the chairman of clarification committee, Permanent Secretary ministry of finance Mohammed M Mohammed who noted that he is very happy to be part of history as chairman committee of payment retirees civil servants workers In zamfara state is a good credit to His Excellency Dr Dauda Lawal Governor of zamfara state.

   He also said that we appreciate the effort and going to perform our assignment with justice and fairness accordingly.

  In his remarks the chairman of Nigeria union of pensioners zamfara state chapter comrade Hassan Muhammad also said that the zamfara Governor has fulfil his promise since become a Governor during his campaign in 2023 general elections always use to mention retirees pensioners and promise to pay them gratuties if become Governor now Allah swt answering his prayers.

  Comrade Hassan Muhammad however advised retired pensioners to exercise patience and come along with all necessary documents and ensure full cooperation to the committee in order to success in their assignments.

Zamfara NSCDC Hosts Acting Provost FCET Gusau

Provost Federal College of Education Technical (FCET) Gusau, Dr. (Mrs) Onazi B. Oluwatoyin and her management team.
