Nasarawa citizens to benefit from gold mining; Commissioner

The Nasarawa state Commissioner for Ministtry of trade, industry and investment, Abubakar Muhammad has said that citizens of the state would benefit from the goldmine recently discovered through the National Integrated Mineral Exploration Project .
He made the disclosure during the Nasarawa state special day at the ongoing 45th Kaduna International Trade Fair.
"The government make sure it enters into an arrangement where there is corporate social responsibility with miners giving back to the community they are mining from.
"The governor is working round the clock to ensure he harness the potentials of Nasarawa state",he said.
Muhammad said illegal miners were encouraged to form corporative society and register with the state and federal government so that they would be duly recognized in order to stop illegal mining.
He explained that the government would not only harness the mineral resources but also ensure that it was processed in the state in order to create job opportunities.
He said that there was now a marble and lithium company which would provide 3000 direct employment and 10,000 indirect employment.
He explained that the state had enjoyed adequate security since the emergence of Governor Abdullahi Sule which had attracted investors to the state
