Aliko Dangote Foundation has donated 30,000 bags of Rice as Ramadan walfare assistance to orphans and less people in Zamfara state.
This was disclosed by the chairman of the distribution committee,Hon. Commissioner ministry for local government and chieftaincy affairs Eng Ahmad Garba Yandi during the distribution ceremony held at Gusau Emirate council recently.
According to him the distribution process was divided into three senatorial zones of the state consisting Emirate council of Gusau, Maru, Bungudu and Tsafe representatives,Anka, Emirate council representative, Talata Mafara, Bukuyyum , Gummi, Maradun Bakura, and kaura Namoda Emirates council also representative Birnin Magaji, Zurmi and Shinkafi Emirates councils in the Zamfara state.
He further stated that each local government was given 1000 bags of 10 kg Rice except Gusau local government which had 2000 bags.
Eng Ahmad Garba Yandi emphasised that Governor Dauda Lawal had directed the distribution committee to give each deserving person one bag of the commodity.
He also noted that a powerful committee had been appointed to ensure the assistance reached the targeted recipients across the state

In the same vein, Secretary of committee who is also Chairman Hisbah Commission,Malan Umar Hassan Gusau, said each local government has five- man committee to supervise the distribution process except Gusau which had ten- man committee. The committees have representatives of Zakat, Emirate councils, representative of Hisbah, representative of Sole Administrator and that each ward 200 less privileged will receive the assistance accordingly.
During the flag- off, a reknown Islamic scholar and also chairman Zakat and Endowment board, Sheikh Umar Ahmad Ibn kanoma who is also a member of the distribution committee has called on those assigned to distribute the commodity to put fear Allah and handle it judiciously.
In his goodwill massage, the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello Gusau thanked the Aliko Dangote Foundation for allocating 30,000 bags of Rice to orphans and less privileged in the state. He said it was a very good initiative through credible Governor of the state Dr Dauda Lawal and assured the foundation that this gesture will be given according to instruction given in order to assist orphans and less privileged people in the state.
