Nutrition Specialist identifies Poverty, Hunger,Lack of Proper breastfeeding and Economic duldrum responsible for Child Malnutrition.

As journalists embarks on facilities tour of some healthcare centers in the State, a Nutrition specialist, Mrs Rahila Idi Umar, informed that lack of exclusive breastfeeding for children aged between 06-23 months is one of the factors responsible for children's malnutrition.
She also identified that lack of family planning among couples contributed to the high rate of malnutrition cases in many families as a result of neglecting child spacing after given birth.
A nutrition Specialist at Kofaran Primary Healthcare Centre, unfolded this when journalists on facility tour visited the center to assertain the level of impact of the diseases in the centre. Saying "the disease mostly affected families living in the rural areas or within the suburb city that lacks access to the facility for freqeunt antinatal".
Mrs. Rahila further disclosed that poverty, high costs of living and present economic duldrum facing the country were among factors that deny many families afford three square meals with nutritional foods. Thereby causing serious health problems to children.
The Nutrition specialist, however, used the opportunity of the journalists visit to advise couples expecially nursing mother's to engage in planting some vegetables at their backyard and close environment with a view to compliment and burst nutrients for their children.
Mrs. Rahila Idi, finally appealed to Government at all levels, stakeholders in private health institutions and well to do individuals to endeavor and assist the affected victims of malnutrition, urging that when given out palliatives, the victims of nutrition should also be equally considered by providing RUTF supplements at every facilities to fight the scourge in the state.
