Gov. Bala approves initiative to Partner with European clubs, China to strengthen sports activities in Bauchi

In effort to bring back Sporting activities in the State as used to be known for as Mecca of sports in Nigeria, Bauchi state Government under the number One sports Man in the State Governor Bala Mohammed, has given an automatic approval to the Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Muhammad Salis Gamawa for his initiative to partner with European Sports Clubs and China
to strengthen sports infrastructure and modalities for players transfer as well as joint-resource partnership.
Honourable Salis Gamawa stated this at the official opening ceremony of the rivaved Bauchi State Sports Festival 2024, held at Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium Bauchi, where he said the development is aimed at setting Bauchi at the forefront in sports Tourism in Nigeria.
He confirmed that Bauchi State is No 1 in the North East in terms of Participation with an enrollment of 10, 038 Youth within the 4 Cohorts.
He said that the achievement was made possible through the Governor's support, awareness and advocacy.
The Commissioner added that through Governor Bala Mohammed's Skill Acquisition Program, 5,000 young women have been empowered with small businesses, with the programs in nine Local government areas of the state.
Honourable Gamawa further revealed that the program is ongoing in the remaining 11 local government areas out of the total 20 LGs of the state.
He said that the Sports Festival is not just a culmination of the ministry's efforts but a starting point for even greater accomplishments.
"Our vision is to create an environment where every young person has the opportunity to excel, whether in sports, academics, entrepreneurship, or any other field of their choosing", the Commissioner said.
He urged the athletes to compete with honor, integrity, and sportsmanship, having in their minds that they are ambassadors of their respective LGAS and their efforts in on and off on the field reflect values the state holds in the Country.
