A delegation of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Zamfara State Chapter, led by its Chairman, Comrade Nurudeen Salisu (Maishinkapha) paid a courtesy visit to Commissioner youth and sports Development in his office.
In a press Statement signed by the spokesperson of the NYCN, Comrade Mahmud A. Lawal issued to the truth newspapers in Gusau the State Capital.
According to press statement, Comrade Nuradeen Maishinkapha said that, they were at the Commissioner office to present the new leadership of the NYCN to him, and to Discuss the plans of NYCN which are targeted at youth development in the state.
Statement further said, Comrade Nuradeen Maishinkapa Commended the Ministry for its unrelenting efforts in youth empowerment. assured the government of the unwavering commitment of the NYCN to complement its initiatives in line with the rescue mission agenda of the administration of the day.
Maiahinkapa narrated that, the role of NYCN in coordinating youth organizations and advocating for youth interests in alignment with the National Youth Policy.
He therefore implored the Ministry and other stakeholders to collaborate with the NYCN in its concerted efforts to actualise the 30% youth quota policy.
“The visit also provided an opportunity for the NYCN to unveil its planned activities to commemorate the International Youth Day and other line-up programs and sought the support of the Ministry in ensuring the success of these programs” he said.
Responding the Commissioner Youth and sports development who was represented by the the Director of Administration of the Ministry Bashir Abubakar Moriki expressed the profound appreciation for the timely visit of the NYCN and reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry to supporting youth development in the state.
He urged the NYCN to take the lead in mobilizing and inspiring other youth organizations to undertake initiatives that positively impact the lives of young people in the state, promised to support the initiatives of the NYCN.
The Chairman acompaned at the visit by the Comrade Ismail Yakubu, Financial Secretary), Comrade Mahmud A. Lawal, Public Relations Officer II), Comrade Fatima Muhammad, Social Secretary, Comrade Jibril A. Sadiq Internal Auditor, Comrade Ibrahim A. Garba, Programmes Officer II, Organizing Secretary Central Comrade Muhammad Muhammad Kanoma as well as State Secretary Comrade Mustapha Umar.
