FRSC sensitises stakeholders on passengers in controlling crashes

Zamfara Sector Command of Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) have on Friday hold a town hall meeting to sensitise stakeholder on passengers role in checkmating roads crashes.
This was to reflect the Theme of this year ember months campaign, 'Speak up against dangerous driving: Crashes kill more passengers than Drivers'.
The truth newspaper, reports that the mega town hall bring together various stakeholder to include; Traditional and Religious leaders, Academia, Security Agencies, Members of the National Union Roads Transports Workers (NURTW), Memners of National Association of Roads Transports Owners (NARTO) NYSC Corps Members and Students.
In his remarks the Sector Commandant Tijjani Iliyasu said the sold aim behind this gathering was to prepared on passengers awareness campaigned toward their role in reducing crashes on the roads.
The Corps had identified that passengers were more killed or otherwise injured in the event of accident.
“So every person or group that were travelling should take it as responsibility to ensure driver behave right while on the road, that why the urged passenger to speak up against dangerous driving”
"It is our hope at the end of this session the personality gathered here will reach the subject and other public for enlightenment”
"What we believe if passengers take it as duty to talk or otherwise report driver where necessary, reckless or dangerous deriving the crashes alone the roads will reduce”
“People should take note of drivers misbehaving on road avoid their vehicles or called the attention of NURTW at the motor pack”
in his Speech The Secretary of the NURTW Yahayya Adamu commended the foresight of FRSC for the new dimension of ember months campaign activities.
“We are victims of every accident because either our member or properties must get affected”
“We take it as duty on us to educate our members as well as public to ensure that all hands are on deck to fight carnages on our roads”
Also speaking the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr, Abdulaziz Sani Muhammad SAN who was represented by the Director Prosecution, Barrister Muhammad Musa called for the review of the of traffic laws in the country to meet the current needs and challenges of the nation.
