“These young scholars embarked on this academic journey to acquire knowledge and skills vital to the future of Zamfara State. Regrettably, they now find themselves caught in an appalling quagmire of humiliation and academic disruption” Maishinkapha Said.

“NYCN stands firmly in solidarity with the affected students, their families, and our youth constituency, while reaffirming its role as the voice of the Nigerian youth under the guiding framework of the National Youth Policy”

“We are committed to galvanizing efforts towards a swift and effective resolution. Therefore, the leadership of the Council has set up an AdHoc Committee of Inquiry, tasked with engaging the government, students, parents, and other critical stakeholders to ensure an outcome that prioritizes transparency, justice, and prompt intervention for the future of our scholars" Nuradeen noted.

“We must acknowledge the preliminary response of the government by sending a three-man delegation to Cyprus International University, but the outcome has been far from satisfactory. It is therefore clear that more decisive action is required to address the gravity of this situation”

In the interim, the Council recommends,

The government should give an unwavering assurance of our students' safe living conditions and uninterrupted academic progress, along with support systems to bolster their well-being by securing accomodations in the interim in private hostels.

The government should have a clear and swift accountability measures directed at those charged with handling this matter, ensuring all stakeholders fulfill their obligations to our students.

“The NYCN Zamfara State Chapter remains steadfast in our commitment to continuously to monitor this impasse, advocating for the rights of our young scholars their and educational advancement. The future of Zamfara State rests on the education and empowerment of its young people, and we will accept nothing short of full justice for our students”
