Zamfara State Government to Renovate 144 Primary Health Centers

The Zamfara State Primary Health Care Board is embarking on a major renovation project to improve healthcare access across the state.
In a Press Statement Signed by the Spokesperson of the Ministry Malan Suleiman Isah issued to the Journalists in Gusau the State Capital.
According to the Statement Executive Secretary Dr. Husaini Yakubu announced that 144 primary health centers (PHCs) will be renovated under initiative.
“The purpose of my visit to PHC Yandoton Daji in Tsafe Local Government Area was to assess the need for facility improvements such as renovations, equipment upgrades, and expansions,” Yakubu said.
"The renovation effort will be a collaborative undertaking. The IMPACT Project will renovate 62 health facilities, Zamfara State Primary Health Care Board (ZSPHCB) will renovate 4 health facilities, and the Constituency Project will renovate 18 health facilities, while the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) will renovate 11 health facilities."
Yakubu emphasized the importance of dedicated healthcare workers and warned that absenteeism would not be tolerated.
“If you cannot comply, please resign, as many people are eager to join the civil service,” he said.
“Henceforth, any officer found to be negligent will face disciplinary action.”
The executive secretary expressed gratitude to Governor Dauda Lawal for his support of the state’s health sector and commended Commissioner of Health Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun for her leadership.
