Zamfara State Police Command says it has recover AK-47 Rifle, Suspected Indian Hemp, and Hard Drugs after Gun Battle with Bandits in Anka Local government area of the State.

This was Contained in a Press Statement Signed by the Spokesperson of the Command issued to the Journalists in Gusau the State Capital.

“On 24 April 2025 at approximately 1900hrs, a team of police officers attached to the Special Intervention Squad, led by ASP Bilyaminu Koko, intercepted a group of bandits during surveillance patrol along the Bobo to Mayanchi axis of Anka Local Government Area, Zamfara State”

“A fierce gun duel ensued, during which the bandits were overpowered by the superior firepower of the police team and forced to flee with suspected gunshot injuries”

“Following the operation, the police recovered: -One (1) AK-47 rifle breach no.20746-Dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp -Substances suspected to be hard drugs”

The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, PSC, commended the officers for their bravery and operational effectiveness. 

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to collaborating with law-abiding citizens to secure the state, urging the public to provide timely and credible information to aid in combating crime.
