Anniversary: Zamfara First Lady empowers 1000 women

Marking the Governor Dauda Lawal two years administration the Wife of the State Governor, Hajjiya Huriyya Lawal has empower 1000 women to start or boost their existing businesses.

The truth Newspaper report that the 1000 women selected from the 14 Local Government Areas of the state received a starter pack of their businesses choice and the sum of N20,000 each.

The empowerment was design to give support to 1000 women that operate different small and medium scale businesses such as; local juices, traditional dishes and vegetables trading.

Distributing the items the First Lady, Hajiya Huriyya Lawal said the empowerment was made to regain the hope of the vulnerable communities and boost their economic capacity to improved the livelihood of the state.

The essence of the Programe was to give you opportunity to be self reliance and contribute their quarter to the growth, development and nation building.

She called on the beneficiaries to treat this as more then a gifts, it is a seed nature it grow your businesses hold it with pride and séance of responsibilities.

“Our hope should be a reason that would uplift your businesses and make someone that we will proud with not only in the state, but the country at large.

Grassing the occasion the State Governor Dauda Lawal said women empowerment was part of his government economic agenda to foster growth and development in the state.

Over a decade insecurity had causes many women to be come widows with growing number of orphans to cater for their livelihood by the day.

And had impacted negatively on our health thereby increasing infant mortality.

FMC Gusau re-affirms Commitment towards upgrading to a teaching hospital

By Ibrahim Ahmad The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Gusau on Tuesday , reaffirmed its commitment towards upgrading to a teaching hospital for enhanced service delivery. The Medical Director of the FMC Gusau, Dr Bello Mohammed made the re-affirmation during the inauguration of a medical  “Common room” constructed by the centre’ s branch of the Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).
