The Nigerian labour congress NLC and Trade union Congress TUC has Commends Gov. Dauda Lawal for pays Over #13 Billion Gratuity Backlog to the retirees pensioners in Zamfara state.
The Commendation was made by the Chairman NLC Comrade sani Haliru and Chairman TUC comrade Sa'adu mudi during the 2025 may Day celebration held at Trade Fair Complex in Gusau the State Capital.

“The choice of this year years leadership of the year organized labour is primarily to reflect on the current economic hardship that is biting hard on Nigerian as a result of some polices of the federal government under president Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tunubu, and the efforts of the labour centres to encourage Nigerian's that were forced to step off the road for the privileged due to economic hardship to remain strong despite all odds.
According to the chairman of TUC Comrade Sa'adu mudi said Today, the organized labour particularly the trade union congress is proud to be associated with this administration of H. E Dauda Lawal particularly on numerous achievements so far recorded within just two years of his stewardship of the state.
“Indeed, on the part of the civil servants, we must thanks His Excellency Dauda Lawal for his support to all labour related activities which usually receive the Governor's blessings at all time.. we remain grateful your Excellency”
He called on His Excellency to look at challenges that Zamfara Workers Facing, Include, the
Full of implementation of # 70,000 minimum wage, Request for the release of approved salary tables for the new minimum wage, upward review of pensions, Reinstatement of civil servants mistakenly removed from salary payroll, though we fully aware of a special committee to be set up by His Excellency under the leadership of the head of service to look into the matter.
How ever, regardless of these challenges we must also acknowledge the various achievements recorded in favour of civil servants in the state some of which include the following: prompt payment of salaries and pensions which is paid every 25th day and local government tagged as 13th month., payment of 30 percent of Basic salary to civil servants across the state and local government tagged as 13 month.
Others include Payment of backlog of gratuities to pensioners from 2011 date that amount to over 13 billion, Setting of all outstanding examination liabilities up to 2024.
We are indeed proud of H. E Dauda Lawal the must labour friendly Governor.
