ZSSTF ORGANISES SECURITY INTERACTIVE SESSION MEETING WITH STAKEHOLDERS

Zamfara State Security Trust Fund has organized an interactive session meeting with stakeholders to review the security challenges facing the state and find solution.
The session was conducted under the able leadership of Brigadier General, Abdulqadir Abubakar Gummi.
The interactive session was held at Command Guest Inn, Army headquarters in Daza, and main head office of the Zamfara State Security Trust Fund in Gusau.
Speaking at the occasion, chairman of the Security Trust Fund, Brigadier General Abdulqadir Abubakar Gummi said the interactive session was organised purposely to engage the attention of security stakeholders in the state with a view to discuss the major problems escalating security challenges facing the state and solution for the problems.
According to the chairman, historical data indicated that the problems of insecurity challenges of Zamfara state started since the year 2011 between farmers and herdsmen in Dansadau area of Maru local government.
He further stated that the issues of security challenges facing the state were worrisome because every one in the state is directly or indirectly affected and anxious to see its end due to the incessant loss of lives and properties affecting people within and outside the state.
Brigadier General Abdulqadir Abubakar Gummi similarly said the state Security Trust Fund had organised the five-day interactive session and invited stakeholders including, retired security officers in Zamfara, Zamfara State commerce industry mines and Agriculture ZACCIMA, Religious leaders,
Traditional rulers, local government council leaders, Non- Governmental organization to hear their views and way forward out of the problem.
The Chairman also said that the Fund had over the last year took time to decisively study the gigantic responsibility placed on it considering the notoriety of insecurity problems in the state. He added that Security Trust Fund had recognized the urgent need to meticulously and painstakingly avoid rushing and repeating many of the decisions that have failed in the past. He further noted that the federal government has its role main role of protecting the sovereignty, regional and boarder security of the Nigerian state. The military and the police will continue to be in the state for as long as insurgency exists. The zamfara state Government is doing its own best to compliment the federal efforts to minimize the pains of war and loss of lives and properties.
Earlier in his speech, the state Governor, Dauda Lawal who was represented by his deputy, Malan Mani Malam Mumini said the state government has full confidence in the capability and commitment of the State Security Trust Fund and commended its initiative for organizing the interactive session with a view to solve the security challenges facing the state.
Governor Dauda Lawal therefore advised the stakeholders to give maximum support and cooperation to the Zamfara State Security Trust Fund to enable it succeed in its assignment.
