Sallah: Gov. Lawal appeals residents to support peace process

Gov. Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has admonished residents of the state to conduct orderly celebration and  support peace process of the state.

The governor made the called in his Sallah broadcast to mark Eid-el-kabir festival held in Gusau on Friday.

Represented by the Acting Governor, Mallam Mani Mummuni, he said the festival was a period of joy, love  and sharing among citizens as enshrined by sharia laws.

He urged the people to go about their celebration orderly within the ambit of laws and moral values.

Mummuni warned residents to desist from involving themselves in any indecent act, disobedience or security breach in the state.

“it is important to put into consideration the state security situation and do everything possible to support Federal and States Governments effort in restoring peace to the state and the region at large”  he noted.

Mummune acknowledged the relative peace achieved in the state, commending the government and security agencies for their determination

He urged the public to continued to support government and security agencies with intelligent information on the activities of bandits and other criminals for prompt action.

He called on them to pray for the state and nation for lasting peace.
