Mix loading: FRSC sensitizes Zamfara truck drivers on prevention

Zamfara Command of Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) has organize a Town hall meeting to sensitize truck drivers against mix loading of goods, animals and passengers.

In his remarks during the meeting held on Friday the Sector Commander, Aliyu Ma'aji said mix loading consume lives more than any other thing, as in one single crashes lives between 30 to 40 were lost.

Ma"aji said the menace of mix loading among trucks vehicles was great source of concern to all stakeholders and much needs to be in tackling the problem.

During the meeting vital issues were raised and discussed appropriately by stakeholders in order to address the problems Mix loading of Animals, Goods and passengers as well as Night travels.

The key resolution reach include, increasing public awareness on the menace of overloading, and establishment of mobile court to prosecute erring offenders immediately. Creation of Road Monitoring Task Force Committee for enforcement of mix loading of Animals, Goods and passengers, Maintainance of One motor park, and surveillance of Drivers picking passengers on the road.

Others are Enforcement of Number plate, Driver's licence and checks underage driving among public especially during celebration, A law should be made available for any driver who overloaded his vehicle and had crash.

FMC Gusau re-affirms Commitment towards upgrading to a teaching hospital

By Ibrahim Ahmad The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Gusau on Tuesday , reaffirmed its commitment towards upgrading to a teaching hospital for enhanced service delivery. The Medical Director of the FMC Gusau, Dr Bello Mohammed made the re-affirmation during the inauguration of a medical  “Common room” constructed by the centre’ s branch of the Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).
