Zamfara Govt. trains 120 women digital literacy

Zamfara State Ministry for Women Affairs Children and Social Development partner with Zamfara Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (ZITDA), Nigerian communication commission (NCC) trained 120 women on digital literacy.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children and Social Development Dr. Aisha Anka made the disclosure while receiving a donations of menstrual panties from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Gusau.
The commissioner represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barrister Suwaiba Ibrahim said the participants were carefully selected from the fourteen local government areas.
"We equipped them on Digital Literacy Skills and provided each participant with an Android device, a certificate and the sum of one hundred thousand naira start up grant"
Anka said the present administration had engaged women in different initiative and programs that enhance their well-being.
The Gov. Dr Dauda Lawal lead administration had changed the narrative of the state through providing developmental projects that has impact to the people of the state.
She also appreciated the office of Zamfara First lady Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal for unwavering commitment in initiating various programs that has socioeconomic impact to the women and other vulnerable individuals in the state.
In his remarks, the UNFPA Officer Kaduna Sub-office ,Dr. Audu Alayande said they were at the ministry to strengthen and support programs aiming at addressing menstrual hygiene, Gender Based Violence (GVB), harmful traditional practice, and women economic empowerment program among others.
Dr, Audu noted that, UNFPA has donate menstrual panties to the Ministry for onward distribution to vulnerable women, particularly those at the rural areas or communities facing humanitarian crisis
Alayande said UNFPA is extending it hand of partnership to train women in different basic skills that would increase their daily incomes.
He applauded the giant efforts of the present administration of Governor Dr, Dauda for always keeping his people at the heart.
The meeting was attended by the Director Women affairs Hajara Abubakar Sani, Director Gender, Asama'u Madawaki, Director Finance of the Ministry, Hamza Abubakar Shinkafi, State UNFPA Program Coordinator, Lawal Shehu Tsafe and the UNFPA State Director Aminu Yakubu.
