FAZAMSS turns unionism into business hub of students

The Federated Association of Zamfara State Students, (FAZAMSS) have change the mindset of students by turning unionism into a business hub, and transforming platform of training, impact, creativity for positive development.
The FAZAMSS President Nasiru Gamagiwa stated this at the closing ceremony of FAZAMSS week 2025 held in Gusau the State Capital.
Gamagiwa said today marks a historic achievement for FAZAMSS. after many years since the establishment of the association in 2002 the idea of FAZAMSS WEEK was seen by many as unrealistic and impossible.
"Yet, despite doubts and numerous challenges we faced, this is a moment of pride not just for the leadership, but for all Zamfara Students” Gamagiwa noted.
"Our aim is to reorient students, revive the culture of responsible unionism, and inspire a generation committed to service rather than personal gain". He added
“As we close this historic week, may Allah continue to guide us, strengthen our unity, and bless all Zamfara Students”
Speaking at event the Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal identified education as key for development and attaining meaningful society.
Lawal represented by the Commissioner of Education Science and Technology, Mallam Wadatau Madawaki, said this made the administration to declared state of emergency on the sector and make necessary provision to boost education in the state.
"Today we are jubilation that our teaming youths begin to understand how to explore opportunities through the knowledge acquire, and change of mindset is what encourage innovation that can bring effective development in the state and nation as whole"
“We are extending the holiday of tertiary schools to January 2026 to monitor security situation of the country. Already we are operating boarding schools in the state” Madawaki noted.
“So we will continue to give our schools necessary security to round up their session before any other thing if at all” he said.
The highlight of the event was presentation of award by the union to dignitaries in the state.
