Three-day Agric Workshop For Extension Officers Ends In Zamfara

Executive Chairman of Zamfara State Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Aminu Aliyu Mafara, has stressed that agricultural extension officers were vital link between research institutions, government policy makers and farmers across the 14 local government areas in the state.
The Executive Chairman of the Commission, who was represented by the Secretary of the Commission, Barr. Shafi'u Bukhari made the statement while presenting workshop attendance certificates to the 42 extension officers and Deputy Directors held at the State Ministry of Agriculture Development Project in Gusau, the State Capital.
According to him, all efforts being made by relevant stakeholders in the agricultural sector were aimed at strengthening agricultural extension services in the state by equipping extension officers with new skills, modern approaches, and innovative techniques to effectively serve farming communities.
He further said that the workshop brought the enriching three-day capacity building to a successful end through shared knowledge, exchanged experiences, and established stronger professional networks.
Mafara also said that the workshop had achieved the desired objectives whereby high level participation, and collaboration was displayed throughout the sessions in a commendable manner.
Alhaji Aminu applauded the foresight of the state government under the leadership of
Rescue Commander, Dr. Dauda Lawal for its support and valuable contributions toward the success of the workshop.
In his remarks, the Director of Administration of the Commission, Alhaji Mukhtar Sani said that the knowledge
gained through the workshop will go a long way in transforming
agricultural productivity across our 14 local government areas.
He also reminded the participants that the capacity building was a continuous process. He encouraged them to diligently implement what they learned in their respective communities, to share, implement, and inspire others.
Mukhtar also said that the real success of the workshop will be measured by the positive changes seen in the fields, markets, and livelihoods of farmers.
He commended the participants' commitment, discipline, and passion throughout the workshop. "As you return to our various stations, you should continue to uphold the spirit of teamwork, professionalism, and innovation in your professional engagements." he emphasised. He added that, together, we can strengthen agricultural extension services and ensure food security and sustainable development for the state and beyond.
