2025 Int'nl day for Disable : FG empowers 250 disable persons in Zamfara

The Nigeria First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu has under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Social Investment, empowered 250 people with disability in Zamfara State.
Tinunu presented the cash grant at an event to commemorate the 2025 international day for disable, theme: fostering disability inclusive society for social progress held in Gusau on Wednesday
Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, who was represented by the wife of Zamfara State Governor, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, said that, The Social Intervention was aimed to empowered Veterans from the Military, Police and other Paramilitary that physically challenge to boost their small businesses, also gives cash grant to them.
“The event holds special significance as it coincides with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and is being launched simultaneously across the 36 States of the Federation, the Federal Capital Territory and the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA)”
“Nation grows stronger when every individual was empowered to contribute meaningfully. As Helen Keller, the renowned American disability rights advocate, once said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”
“These words remind us that a truly inclusive society built when stand together, creating opportunities that empower everyone to contribute their unique gifts to the collective progress”
“Today, the RHI would provide the sum of N200,000 Business Recapitalization Grants to each of the 250 Persons with Disabilities in the 36 State and the Federal Capital Territory to support small business owners to recapitalize their existing businesses and strengthen their means of livelihood”
“Each state of the federation, the FCT, the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association will receive fifty million naira (N50,000,000), to be distributed to the beneficiaries in their domain”
“In total, 9,500 Persons with Disabilities across Nigeria will benefit from this programme, amounting to N1,900,000,000”
According to her the programme aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Tinubu, which seeks to promote inclusive growth and shared prosperity by ensuring that no Nigerian was left behind, especially those whose needs were overlooked.
"It is worth noting that, over the past two years, the Renewed Hope Initiative has supported over 100,000 women petty traders and small business owners, including physically challenge persons, with direct financial grants to grow their businesses". She said
“The FG commitment to improving lives has also been demonstrated through various interventions in Agriculture, Economic Empowerment, Education, Health, and Social Welfare aimed at improving the well-being of families across the country”
“The Social Investment Programmes had provided financial and material support to victims of floods, communal clashes and disasters, as well as to the elderly, widows and orphans of the fallen heroes”
"Through the RHI Monthly Food Outreach Scheme, government had so far delivered food items to 22 States and the FCT. Also provide food items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable communities. "We remain committed to doing even more to uplift lives and bring hope to those in need.
"In recognition of our shared responsibility to promote inclusion, the Governing Board of the Renewed Hope Initiative has resolved to make the Economic Empowerment Programme for Persons with Disabilities as an annual event, schedule to December 3rd, in commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Appreciating the gesture the State Chairman of People with Disability, Alhaji Usman Nahuche acknowledged the effort of the FG in providing the huge intervention to physically challenge persons.
Nahuche said the intervention would no doubt rekindled the hope of people with disability.
"I believe the beneficiaries will effectively utilize the grant to boost their businesses ". He said
