The Sakaba Chiefdom in Kebbi State has conferred a prestigious Merit Award on the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi (Mutawallen Bukkuyum), in recognition of his outstanding contributions and developmental support to the chiefdom.
The chiefdom of Sakaba, Alhaji Muhammad Ladan Musa, stated that, the honour is well deserved, considering the Deputy Governor’s remarkable efforts and commitment to the progress of the Sakaba chiefdom. He noted that although the Deputy Governor is from Zamfara State, this did not prevent him from showing genuine love, concern, and support for the Sakaba Emirate.
In his acceptance speech, the Deputy Governor Mani Malam Mummuni expressed profound gratitude to the chiefdom of Sakaba and the entire Chiefdom for finding him worthy of the honour. He described the gesture as a great source of pride and encouragement. Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi reaffirmed his commitment to continue
doing everything possible, whenever the need arises, to support and protect the chiefdom and to promote the welfare and development of its people. He also thanked all those who attended the ceremony to celebrate with him on the occasion of the award.
The Deputy Governor further explained that, although the chiefdom had graciously bestowed on him the traditional title of Katukan Sakaba, and the turbaning ceremony was initially scheduled for the same day, he requested a postponement due to prior official engagements and preparations. He therefore appealed to the chiefdom to graciously fix another convenient date for the turbaning ceremony.
Dignitaries who attended the event included the Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki; the Emir of Gusau, sarkin Katsina Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello II; commissioners, local government chairmen, advisers, permanent secretaries, political leaders, and other distinguished personalities from Zamfara and Kebbi States.
