ZMSG APPROVES N5. BILLION FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF SCHOOL OF NURSING IN ZURMI

   The Zamfara State Government has approved the sum of five billion naira for the reconstruction of the School of Nursing in Zurmi Local Government Area, as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare service delivery across the state.

  Governor Dr. Dauda Lawal made this known during the flag-off of the distribution of cash assistance to 850 beneficiaries, an initiative sponsored by the State Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Alhaji Nasiru Ibrahim Zurmi.

   The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Mani Malam Mummuni (Masamar Mudi), said his administration remains committed to implementing meaningful development projects across the fourteen local government areas of the state.

  Dr. Lawal also disclosed that, arrangements have been concluded for the demolition and reconstruction of the Zurmi Emirate Palace, aimed at preserving and enhancing the cultural and traditional heritage of the people.

   He further stated that the government has awarded a ₦2 billion contract for the construction of Kanwa Road, alongside the ongoing construction of 7 kilometres of Zurmi–Rukudawa Road, 3 kilometres of roads within Zurmi town, and 3 kilometres of roads in Moriki. adding  that the Zurmi Primary Healthcare Centre and General Hospital are also being renovated.

   The Governor commended the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Alhaji Nasiru Ibrahim Zurmi, for the cash assistance initiative and called on other political office holders to emulate the gesture.

    Earlier Speaking, Alhaji Nasiru Ibrahim Zurmi said the initiative was designed to complement the efforts of Governor Dauda Lawal in providing welfare support to citizens and easing their economic hardship.

   He explained that, the 850 beneficiaries were selected from polling units across different wards in Zurmi Local Government Area and would each receive ₦20,000 as financial support.

   In their goodwill messages, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, State PDP Chairman,the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, and the Chairman of Zurmi Local Government commended Alhaji Nasiru Ibrahim Zurmi for the initiative, describing it as commendable and worthy of emulation.

FMC Gusau re-affirms Commitment towards upgrading to a teaching hospital

By Ibrahim Ahmad The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Gusau on Tuesday , reaffirmed its commitment towards upgrading to a teaching hospital for enhanced service delivery. The Medical Director of the FMC Gusau, Dr Bello Mohammed made the re-affirmation during the inauguration of a medical  “Common room” constructed by the centre’ s branch of the Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).
