Others are leaders of Voluntary Youth Organisations (VYOs)—comprising both uniformed and non-uniformed youth groups, representatives of student bodies and other youth-focused, youth-led organisations operating at the grassroots level across the state.

“The retreat was designed to enhance the capacity of youth leaders for effective leadership, coordination, and policy advocacy within the NYCN framework, particularly at the state, local government, and ward levels”

“It also sought to deepen participants’ understanding of the National Youth Council of Nigeria as a policy-driven institution and to reposition youth leadership as a strategic partner in governance and development”

“The programme featured seasoned and experienced speakers with strong backgrounds in youth leadership, governance, and policy advocacy. Through interactive sessions, experience sharing, and syndicate discussions, participants were exposed to practical tools for advocacy, institutional leadership, and constructive engagement with government and development partners”

Nuradeen Salisu Maishinkafa, reminded participants that the strength of NYCN lies in its unity and structured engagement, noting that “only when the youth speak with a common voice can their aspirations be meaningfully heard, addressed, and reflected in governance and policy decisions”

Comrade Nuradeen,  further stressed that the retreat was not ceremonial, but a deliberate effort to recalibrate leadership mindset, strengthen internal cohesion, and reposition NYCN as a credible policy advocacy platform for youth development in Zamfara State.

He commended the administration of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, for its youth-friendly posture and called for sustained collaboration between government and organised youth structures to advance peace, development, and inclusive governance in the state.

“Participants at the retreat expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful, and pledged renewed commitment to advancing the objectives of NYCN through coordinated, policy-driven youth engagement across all local governments of Zamfara State”

In his remarks on behalf of the National President of NYCN, Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo,  commended the Zamfara State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development for its supportive role and acknowledged the strategic leadership of the Zamfara State Chapter of NYCN in mobilising youth structures for development and good governance.
