Minister of Education handover library facility to Federal University Gusau

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Alausa has commissioned and delivered a library project, executed under  Tertiary Education Trust Fund (Tetfund) 2025 intervention, to Federal University Gusau (FUGUS).

Handover the Project, Dr. Maruf Alausa  said, such  facility constituted a  compulsory requirement for all university to get  accreditation, as a learning environment.

The minister, who was  represented by  FUGUS Vice Chancellor Prof. Muazu Abubakar noted that, the library would improve learning.

“This library has the capacity to accommodate  about 1500 students and if  properly utilised, learning and research activities, not only within the state but  the country as a whole will be enhanced”

He urged the university to maintain the facility diligently to enable students and researchers reap the reward of the such huge investment.

The minister further  identified education as a  critical tool for  development that can shape any society.

”I  believe that if  the youths are adequately educated, the menace of banditry and other crimes will  be tackle” he buttressed.

The Vice Chancellor also represented the Secretary National University Commission (NUC), Prof. Abdullahi Yusuf to commission Faculty of Agriculture Lecture Theater and others.

Receiving the project the University Chief Librarian, Shaaibu Sadiku appreciated the Federal Government for such timely intervention.

He said the library would no doubt, boost the academic deliveries of the institution.

Sadiku promised effective maintenance of the facility for the good use of students and researchers from across the country and outside.
