Synergy, inter agency collaboration must uphold to tackle insecurity -- Junta

The Controller Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Zamfara Command, Muhammad Junta, has identified synergy and inter agencies collaboration as critical tools to achieved success in the fight against insecurity.

This was contained in a statement by the Command Public Relation Officer, Mustapha Abubakar in Gusau on Saturday.

According to the Statement Controller made the disclosure during a courtesy visit with 207 Quick Response Group (QRG) of the Nigerian Air Force, Gusau, Zamfara Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in an effort to sustained and strengthen inter agency collaboration to enhance security.

“The visit provided a platform for strategic engagements on security cooperation, with discussions centred on intelligence sharing, rapid response mechanisms, and coordinated operations aimed at safeguarding custodial centres and Zamfara community”

Junta emphasized the critical role of sustained inter-agency partnership between the Nigerian Correctional Service and other sisters Security Agencies in addressing emerging security challenges.

He stressed the need for structure capacity-building, including periodic lectures on weapons handling, with focus on safety, professionalism, and adherence to operational best practices.

The Controller also highlighted the importance of sports and recreational activities among security personnel, noting that sporting engagements promote physical fitness, teamwork, and reduce stress.

In his response, the Commander of the 207 Quick Response Group, Nigerian Air Force, Gusau, Group Captain P. A. Ogba, commended the Controller of Correctional Service for the visit and reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Air Force to sustained collaboration with the Agency in the collective pursuit of a safer and more secure Zamfara.

Also responding, the FRSC Sector Commander, Aliyu Ma’aji appreciated the visit and called for the expansion of regular inter agency security meetings.

He noted that broader participation would enhance intelligence sharing, operational coordination, and collective response to security challenges within the state.

The Sector Commander reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to sustained collaboration with the Nigerian Correctional Service and other sister agencies in promoting safety, security, and national development.

The visit concluded with a mutual pledge to deepen cooperation through regular engagements, joint activities, and effective information sharing in line with national security objectives.

Similarly, the Comptroller Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Zamfara Command, Muhammed Sadiq expressed appreciation for the visit and assured the NCoS Controller of their readiness to further deepen collaboration with the all security agencies in the interest of peace, security, and effective service delivery in State.
