Zamfara Govt Pledges Stronger Support for Shari'a Justice System

Zamfara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the Shari'a justice system and ensuring the independence of the judiciary as part of efforts to promote justice and good governance in the state.

The Deputy Governor, Mallam Mani Malam Mummuni (Masamar Mudi), stated this while representing Governor Dauda Lawal at the 2026 Annual Shari'a Court Judges Conference and a special ceremony to honour the Grand Khadi of Zamfara State, Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Gusau with the title of Khadimul Shari'a, The event held on Monday at the Shari'a Court of Appeal Complex in Gusau.

Mani Malam Mummuni described the conference and the conferment as historic, saying they reflect the state’s determination to uphold Islamic principles, scholarship, and the rule of law.

“The administration of His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, remains firmly committed to supporting the Shari'a judiciary. We recognize your role as custodians of justice and we will continue to provide the necessary support for welfare, training and infrastructure,” the Deputy Governor said.

He commended the Shari'a Court Judges for their dedication, integrity and contributions to peace and stability in Zamfara, adding that the government views the Shari'a legal system as a key pillar for societal development.

In his remarks, the honoured Grand Khadi, Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Gusau, expressed gratitude to the state government for its support. He pledged that members of the Shari'a bench would continue to discharge their duties with fairness, fear of Allah, and commitment to justice.

The conference attracted Shari'a Court Judges, Islamic scholars, legal practitioners, traditional rulers and other stakeholders who discussed challenges and strategies for improving justice delivery in the state.

The event ended with prayers for peace, unity and progress in Zamfara State.

FMC Gusau re-affirms Commitment towards upgrading to a teaching hospital

By Ibrahim Ahmad The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Gusau on Tuesday , reaffirmed its commitment towards upgrading to a teaching hospital for enhanced service delivery. The Medical Director of the FMC Gusau, Dr Bello Mohammed made the re-affirmation during the inauguration of a medical  “Common room” constructed by the centre’ s branch of the Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).
