Terrorists Abduct Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Students Affairs Officer Others

The students affairs officer of the Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talata-Mafara in Zamfara state and two others were abducted by bandit along Kaduna abuja road.

In a statement by  the Public Relation Officer, Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talata-Mafara, who double as HOD Mass Comm, Mallam Aliyu Damri said, the two personalities were on their way to Abuja to attend the Pre-NYSC mobilization workshop slated to hold  today Wednesday.

The students affairs officer, Sanusi Haliru was kidnapped together with the Deputy registrar of College of Agriculture Bakura, Aliyu Atiku.

Damri said the officers were in their Corolla Car 2007 model with registration number ZM 02 P46 when they were attacked by bandits near Katari village in Kaduna state.

The attack acccording to Damri involved commercial and private vehicles plying the highway which occurred at about 4pm.

Already the terrorists invaded Katari town and abducted 16 people in the early hours of the same yesterday.

The abducted people included children, business people, civil servants involving Mallam Sanusi Halilu, the Students Affairs Officer, Abdu Gusau polytechnic, Talata Mafara, alongside with Mallam Tukur, a staff with LGEA Bakura.

Damri further explained that the management of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic has paid a sympathy visit to the family of the abducted students affairs officer and proceeded to Kaura Namoda for the same visit. 

He also maitained that the Polytechnic has also provided necessary support the family of the affected officer pending his release.

Provost Federal College of Education Technical (FCET) Gusau, Dr. (Mrs) Onazi B. Oluwatoyin and her management team.
