2023 Election : Zamfara State NUJ Urged its Members to Respect Laws and Ethics of Journalism

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zamfara State Council  has Urged its Members to Respect Laws and Ethics of the Journalism Profession of their reportage before, during, and after the polls.

This was Contained in Press Statement jointly Signed by the Chairman and Secretary of NUJ Zamfara State Council, Comrade Ibrahim Musa Maizare, and Comrade Ibrahim Ahmad Gada, issued to the journalists in Gusau the State capital.

“ Similarly,  the union's  members are  charged to be just and fair to all political parties in the state and country at large  and also  advised politicians to consider  journalists as their partners in progress,  in the effort of  ensuring  good Democracy and in according to the international best practice in Zamfara and Nigeria in general”

“The members of the pen profession  also are admonished to always be factual  on reporting activities of any  political party, as the Union vowed not to  support any personal bias, malicious, fabricated , or misinformation from its members  and also  advised  politicians to give maximum support and cooperation to its members for them to discharge their primary assignment effectively”

 “While the Union  assured of its support and assistance to its members in the course of  discharging their constitutional mandates  before , during and after the elections, also seek for the divine intervention in the lingering insecurity that crippled and jeopardised all sectors of human endeavours in Zamfara and country at large”
